P2E Team Celebration – Queensland Police and Emergency Services Reform Program – July 2024

P2E staff, family members and invited guests enjoyed celebrating the successful delivery of a significant component of work associated with the Queensland Police and Emergency Services Reform Program (PESRP).

P2E were engaged by the Special Coordinator Reform, to work across multi-agencies to assist with the establishment of the PESRP. This program was established by government to implement a range of significant reforms in the Public Safety sector. This multi-year, multi-agency program of reform, initiated by the Premier of Queensland, and led by the Special Coordinator Reform, included:

• Establishing a governance structure and leading the implementation of the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services independent review – Reform Implementation Taskforce – “Enhanced Emergency Services and Disaster Management for Queensland”. Reform Implementation Taskforce – Machinery of Government changes involved $578M of investment to deliver on significant scope across multiple government agencies.
• Leading and managing the Queensland Police Service’s response to the Commission of Inquiry into Queensland Police Service responses to domestic and family violence – “A Call for Change”.
• The Women’s Safety and Justice Taskforce reports – McMurdo Review – Women’s Safety and Justice Taskforce 1 “Here Her Voice” & 2 “Women and girls’ experiences across the criminal justice system” recommendations where relevant to the QPS.
• Mazerolle Review – Professor Mazerolle’s report on improvements to investigating police-related deaths, and domestic and family violence deaths with prior police contact.
• Future findings and recommendations resulting from the Commission of Inquiry into Forensic DNA Testing in Queensland.
• Relevant Government Election Commitments.
• Any relevant outstanding coronial inquest findings and actions and Queensland Audit Office report on Domestic and Family Violence – police.

P2E are very proud of what our client and their partners have been able to achieve given the delivery timeframes and magnitude of change. Most importantly, the dedication, effort and commitment by all of our deployed team members was simply amazing! We celebrated by congratulating and acknowledging the deployed team, particularly those who have excelled. Commentary from our client regarding our performance recognised the quality of the deployed team: “We simply would not have got to where we did without the exceptional efforts of the P2E Team”. We have shared some pictures form the evening’s festivities.

P2E Change in Management

Celebrating more than a decade of accomplishments – Geoff hands over the corporate reins to Todd Hunt (founding Director P2E)

After nearly 12 years of successful partnership, founding Director Geoff Crooks has resigned from P2E to pursue his other passions more fully.  Over the life of P2E, Geoff has been instrumental in the development and management of P2E from a fledgling organisation to a highly successful multi-award winning consultancy firm.

Remaining Director Todd Hunt thanks Geoff for his many years of service, contribution, dedication and commitment, and congratulates him on his many achievements throughout the life of P2E.  This was a difficult decision for Geoff; however, he will continue to provide highly valued training services on behalf of P2E.

2019 AIPM Awards – QLD Change Management Project of the Year

P2E would like to congratulate the Queensland Police Service (QPS) in winning the 2019 QLD Change Project of the Year.

The QPS formed a bespoke project group to meet the Queensland Government’s Commonwealth Games 2018 Bid guarantee of providing a safe and secure Games environment. Recognised as the third-largest global sporting event, the Games represented the most complex major event for Queensland Government this decade. Considerable enduring, complex QPS-wide organisation and change management resulted in creation of the specialised 120-staff group to meet the forecast security planning and delivery needs.  In collaboration with key partner agencies across all levels of government. “Operation Sentinel” successfully delivered an incident-free, safe and secure Games environment, quality-assured, on time and under budget.

P2E have worked closely with the QPS to assist with the development of project and program management capability that was deemed a critical enabler for the successful delivery of the 2018 Operation Sentinel Project. P2E were also involved with program managing the successful GOLDOC Cyber Security Program for GC2018. This required extensive stakeholder management across 3 layers of government inclusive of third party deliverers. This collegiate approach was highly successful and will be leveraged for future games.

P2E are extremely proud of the officers and staff that worked tirelessly to deliver this highly successful project.
